WILSON, N.C.- The Shorter Women's Tennis team was defeated by Barton on the road Saturday afternoon in a 6-1 defeat. The loss drops Shorter to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in conference action.
The Hawks gained a 6-4 doubles win from
Sofia Arellano and
Lady-Ester Villanueva Rosado in the #2 spot, but it was not enough to secure the doubles point.
Shorter continued to battle, but struggled to keep up with the Bulldogs.
Sharick Guiza Hernandez gained the lone point in the #1 spot in a 6-2, 6-2 win, but the Hawks still came up short in a 6-1 defeat.

Shorter will return home and face off against non-conference opponent Gadsden State for a 1:00 PM match.
