MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Shorter Men's Tennis team fell to Chowan on the road Friday afternoon in a 5-2 defeat, marking their ninth straight loss. The loss drops the Hawks to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Hawks battled in doubles, with Carlos Tubio and
Kalle Johansson earning a 7-6 win against their opposition. Shorter continued to fight, but fell in the #1 and #3 matches.
Tubio continued to thrive, earning a well-fought 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win in the #1 slot for Shorter.
Guido Loayza competed well in the #2 spot, earning a 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 win. Shorter would battle on, but could not pick up another win as they fell to Chowan in a 5-2 final.
