FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- The Shorter Women's Tennis team earned their first conference win on Wednesday, with a thrilling 4-3 win over Emmanuel. the improves Shorter to 7-5 and 1-1 in conference play. 
 

Shorter battled in doubles early, but could not secure the doubles point despite a great effort all-around.


The Hawks continued to fight in singles, grabbing a quick forfeit win from Caroline Johnson to even things up. Emmanuel would take the #1 and #5 match to take the 3-1 lead late. Lady-Ester Villanueva Rosado helped keep Shorter alive with a tough 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 tiebreaker win. Sofia Arellano battled with her opposition, defeating them in a 6-4, 7-5 win to swing the momentum back to Shorter. Laura Martin secured the come-from-behind win with a thrilling 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 win to deliver the Hawks their first conference win of the season.
