MARS HILL, N.C.- The Shorter Men's Soccer team fell to Mars Hill on Tuesday afternoon in a tough 5-0 loss at Ammons Family Athletic Center & Meares Stadium. The loss drops the Hawks to 2-6-1 overall.
The Hawks battled with the Lions early on, fending them off for the first 20 minutes of action. Mars Hill eventually broke open the lead with a pair of goals within two minutes of each other, as the Hawks entered halftime behind two goals. Mars Hill did not slow down, scoring three more in the second half as the Hawks fell in a 5-0 defeat.
"Disappointed with the result", said Head Coach Roberto Hernandez. "I am more disappointed that we keep causing our own errors, like that red card early into it. I think before it, we showed that we could hang with a good team like them, but unfortunately it just did not go our way. We're excited to bounce back this Saturday. We have played Erskine before, and we're aiming to be confident in the second half, so we are excited for Saturday.
