ROME- The Shorter Hawks will kick off the 2026 campaign this Friday as they host the Lee Flames in a double header. Both games will be streamed to the CC Digital Network with first pitch set to begin at 1:00 PM.

NOTES: 

• The Hawks are coming off a 2025 season in which they showed great improvement, going 13-31 overall while finishing a respectable 10-14 in conference play.
• Shorter was picked to finish 13th in the CC Preseason Polls.
• The Hawks bring back notable returners as well as a solid core of freshman and transfers. 
• Rylee Gattis and Alex Hollingsworth look to capitalize off a solid 2025 campaign in which Gattis led the team in batting average (.368) and Hollingsworth with home runs (6). 

 SCOUTING THE FLAMES: 

• The Flames had a solid 2025 season finishing right at .500 and are looking to compete better in GSC play. 
• This marks year 24 of the Emily Russell era at Lee. 

SERIES HISTORY: 

• Shorter is 13-18 all-time against the Flames, with Lee winning their last six match-ups.
