Shorter Women's Basketball is set to host the first round of the Conference Carolinas Conference Tournament on Sunday March 2 and Monday March 3
rd. On Monday North Greenville and Emmanuel are slated to play at 5PM and Shorter will take on the winner of the game on Monday at 6 PM.
This is Shorter's Women's Basketball first Conference Birth since 2014, behind the play of
Dericca McCall who averages 15.6 PPG and
Tiara Lewis who averages 12.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. This has been a dynamic year for Coach
LaSheena Brooks and her squad as she enters year 3 compiling a historic 20-6 conference record which is the most wins in the regular season as a Division II program. This season Shorter also was crowned the Northwest Divisional Champions of the conference with a 7-1 overall divisional record.
Coach Brooks had a few words to say about the success her team has seen this season, "I am so proud of the hard work that this team has done. Since the very beginning of the season, we have focused on our HABITS. Our daily habits are the things that have driven our success this season. Our seasons have exhibited great leadership, and our team has remained focused on the overall goal.
