Box Score YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.- The Shorter Men's Basketball team fell to Georgia College on the first day of the Young Harris Conference Crossover, 99-70, in the Harp Recreation Center on Friday afternoon.
Shorter got things going in the first few minutes, going on an 8-2 run. The Bobcats responded with a dominant 18-3 run to push their lead to nine at the 12:17 mark. The Hawks managed to crawl their way back into the contest, as a pair of
Donovan Shangase free throws made it a 34-29 game with less than six minutes to go until the half. Shorter struggled offensively to find the bottom of the net as the Bobcats took a 47-36 lead at the half.
The Hawks, unfortunately, struggled to keep up with the Bobcats for most of the second half, falling victim to another large run from Georgia College. The Hawks continued to fight, but fell in a 99-70 final.
Donovan Shangase led all scorers with 18 points as
Ja'Myas Davis finished with 15 points and five rebounds.

The Hawks will have a quick turnaround as they face Middle Georgia State tomorrow at 3:00 PM on day two of the Conference Crossover Tournament.
