HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Shorter Wrestling program battled hard but fell in dual match action to UNC Pembroke in a 31-13 final and Coker in a 33-7 final at the DeLoach Center Thursday afternoon.
SHORTER vs. UNC PEMBROKE
The Braves jumped out in front early, taking the first four matches before
Jonathan Fogus (157) delivered the Hawks a victory with an 8-3 decision over his opponent.
Jason Clark (165) followed directly after taking down his opponent in an 8-4 decision The Hawks dropped the next two matches before
Eli Kimball (285) gave Shorter a 6-4 decision victory to make it a 31-13 final.
SHORTER vs. COKER
The Hawks struggled against the Cobras, dropping their first five bouts.
Jason Clark got the Hawks on the board with a decision victory that was followed by a major decision win from
Riley Davis (174), making it 28-7. Shorter unfortunately failed to complie another victory as they fell 33-7.
UP NEXT
Shorter will travel to Belmont Abbey next Wednesday for a 6:00 PM match.
