ROME, Ga.- The Shorter Men's Soccer team's season came to a close against Young Harris Saturday afternoon at the YHC Soccer Field in a 5-1 defeat.
Young Harris opened the scoring first in the 14th minute, putting the Hawks down 1-0 early. The remainder of the half saw both sides playing physical defense and generating opportunities offensively. Young Harris took advantage and scored a last-minute goal going into the half.
The Mountain Lions came out firing on all cylinders to begin the second half. The Hawks responded well and would cut the deficit to one as Carter Morningstar found Rogelio Rojas on a dish. Shorter continued to fight, but allowed three goals in the final 10 minutes to fall in a 5-1 final.
Shorter ends the season 3-13-0 overall and 3-10-0 in conference play.
