Rome, Ga. – The Hawks took on the Miles College Golden Bears through a competitive weekend at Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex
Game 1 – Shorter 13, Miles College 7
The Hawks took the lead early in the bottom of the first inning on a single by Jacob Pajer, followed by a double from the bat of Kobe Jones. After a Thomas Schroeder, IV walk to load the bases, Levi Maddela hit a triple, scoring three runs. Logan Stockton's double scored three runs. Kobe Jones hit a homerun, scoring two runs, giving the Hawks a 9-0 lead going into the second.
The Hawks scored again in the second with an RBI single by Jacob Pajer and an RBI fielder's choice by Kobe Jones, giving the Hawks an 11-4 going into the third.
The Hawks scored a total of thirteen runs, with additional hits by Kody Krause, Kobe Jones, and Logan Stockton, for the 13-7 win.
The starter, Cole McDaniel went for 4.0 innings allowing 6 runs. He was followed by Coy Martin, Blayne Fritcher, Manato Tateno, and Simon Aluko, who combined, gave up the other 3 runs to the Golden Bears.
Game 2 – Shorter 4, Miles College 0
In the bottom of the first inning, the Hawks scored one run after a single by Levi Maddela, scoring Tommy Schroeder, IV. They scored a second run in the bottom half of the second after a single by Justin Barnes.
The Hawks scored their last 2 runs of the game after singles by Jacob Pajer and Kody Krause.
On the mound for the Hawks to start the game was Seth Crowe, pitching for 8.0 innings, allowing no runs. He was followed by Darrell Johnson, who also gave up no runs.
Game 3 – Shorter 7, Miles College 6
In the final game of the series, the Hawks and Golden Bears, the Hawks scored two runs in the first on a homer by Jacob Pajer and a triple by Norman Leon, scoring Kobe Jones. Kobe Jones and a single by Jacob Pajer to score Kody Krause.
The Hawks didn't score again until the bottom of the fourth. Logan Stockton had an RBI fielder's choice, scoring Justin Barnes, and a single by Jacob Pajer, scoring Kody Krause.
The Golden Bears took the lead in the top of the seventh, and the Hawks came by to tie the game with sacrifice flies from Tommy Schroeder IV and Norman Leon. In the bottom of the eighth, the Hawks won on a walk-off hit by Jacob Pajer that scored Kody Krause.
On the mound for the Hawks to start the final game was Tanner Fields, pitching 6.0 innings, giving up 3 runs. He was followed by Simon Aluko, who gave up no runs. Manato Tateno, Wyatt Getz, and Coy Martin also pitched, giving up one run each.
