The Hawks started the series against the Valdosta State Blazers falling short in a close game on Saturday at Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex.
The Hawks took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with a homerun from senior,
Tyler McWillie. In the top of the third inning the Blazers answered back by scoring 1. Junior DH,
Justin Barnes went 2-for-3 with 2 hits, 1 RBI, and a walk. Junior right fielder,
Jacob Pajer went 2-for-5 with 2 hits and an RBI. Sophomore,
Cole McDaniel started the game on the bump pitching 6 innings for the Hawks. Allowing 7 hits, and a total of 3 runs. McDaniel was able to fan some of the Blazers line up, tallying 4 strikeouts. Senior,
Trevor Nanney threw two innings only allowing 1 hit and 1 run with two strike outs.

The Hawks beat the Valdosta State (Blazers) in second game of the series 4-3 at Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex.
The Hawks struck first with an RBI double by

Thomas Schroeder IV. A big 2 RBI single by the junior left fielder in the bottom of the 8
th helped the Hawks take the momentum. It was a big day for Jones as he went 2-for-4 with 2 hits and 3 RBIs. Junior
Trevor Cumberland started the game on the bump for the Hawks pitching 6.2 innings. Cumberland allowed 6 hits and 3 runs while striking out 4 batters. Senior,
Carson Cook also came in to pitch allowing no hits.
The Hawks have evened the playing field 1-1 in the series against the Blazers.
Game 3: Shorter 0, Valdosta State 8
The Hawks fall short in last game of the series versus the Blazers 0-8.
In game three, the Hawks were not able to catch a break against the Blazers, as they could not plate any runs through 7 innings. Juniors,
Thomas Schroeder IV and
Norman Leon both went 1-for-3 from the plate on the day with senior,
Tyler McWillie going 1-for-2.
Tanner Folds was on the bump to start the game for the Hawks. He threw for for 2.2 innings giving up 5 hits and 6 runs.
Landon Maynard came in relief in the second inning, only giving up 2 hits and 2 runs.
