Game 1: Shorter 4, Union 5
The Hawks started the series just barely falling short to the Bulldogs 5-4 on Friday, February 17
th.
Jacob Pajer hit a sacrifice fly into right field scoring
Thomas Schroeder IV to start the game. The Hawks held onto the lead until the top of the 5
th, where Union then came back to tie it up. Sophomore SS,
Thomas Schroeder IV went 2- for -3 with 2 hits and 2 RBIs.
Cole McDaniel took the loss, pitching 4.2 innings of the game. He was followed by
Carson Cook,
Landon Maynard, and
Trevor Nanney.
Landon Maynard pitched 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs, followed by
Trevor Nanney, who also pitched 2.0 scoreless innings.
Game 2: Shorter 11, Union 1
The Hawks came back with energy, winning the second game of the series 11-1 on Saturday, February 18
th.
Kody Krause scored off a double to left field by
Thomas Schroeder IV in the third inning. Sophomore shortstop,
Thomas Schroeder IV, and junior outfielder,
Kobe Jones went 3-for-4 both with 1 RBI a piece.
Trevor Cumberland pitched a great 6.2 innings giving away only one earned run, one hit, and striking out 6 batters. Followed up by
Luke Queen pitching .1 inning, facing only 1 batter with no runs scored.
Tyler McWillie hit a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the 6
th inning putting Shorter 10 to 1.
Isaac Harkins singled to center field to score the Hawks final run top of the 7th.
Game 3: Shorter 5, Union 0
The Hawks beat the Bulldogs 5-0 in the third game of the series on Saturday, February 18
th.
Tanner Folds pitched the entire game giving up 0 runs with 0 errors, 8 strike outs, and only two hits.
