ROME, Ga—Shorter Softball honored their seniors on Sunday at the last game of the series versus University of Alabama in Huntsville. Lady Hawks seniors that were honored include
Kaylee Combs,
Alexis Sewell,
Hannah Morales and
Kylie League. Shorter fell 9-1 in the final game of the series.
With the loss, Shorter has an overall record of 6-41 while UAH improves to 32-14.
UAH started off the first inning by plating one run. Then
Payton Tuder hit solo homerun over the left field fence to tie the game 1-1. Alabama Huntsville scored a total of six runs in the second and tacked on another in the third to take the score, 8-1. In the 7
th, the Lady Chargers plated on one more run, 9-1.
The Lady Hawks recorded a total of 12 hits.
Angela Cecere led the Lady Hawks by going 3-3 at the plate.
Kaylee George, Tuder, and Combs each went 2-4 at the plate.
Carlee Graham, Morales, and League all added in one hit each.
