MONTEVALLO, Ala.- The Lady Hawks traveled to Montevallo for their final road game of the regular season for a matchup with the Montevallo Lady Falcons. After scoring six goals in the first quarter the Lady Falcons continued to add to their lead and won the game 16-5.
Montevallo scored three unanswered goals to start the game, 3-0.
Ansley Barge got the Lady Hawks on the board with 8:33 left in the first quarter, 3-1. The Lady Falcons added two more goals to extend their lead, 5-1.
Alexis Mount scored with 4:38 left in the first quarter to cut the lead down to three, 5-2. Montevallo scored another goal in the last minute of the first quarter, 6-2. The Lady Falcons scored four unanswered goals in the second quarter, 10-2.
Maria Hansen scored her first goal of the game with 20 seconds left in the first half, 10-3. Montevallo scored two goals coming out of the halftime break, 12-3.
Olivia Contento scored with 5:32 left in the third quarter, 12-4. The Lady Falcons added another goal before the end of the third quarter, 13-4. Montevallo scored the first goal of the fourth quarter to extend their lead, 14-4.
Olivia Masters scored the last goal for the Lady Hawks with 5:54 left in the game, 14-5. The Lady Falcons scored two more goals in the last four minutes of the game, 16-5.
All five of Shorter's goals were scored by different players;
Olivia Contento,
Olivia Masters,
Alexis Mount,
Ansley Barge, and
Maria Hansen all recorded a goal.
Alexis Mount led the team with four shots on goal followed by
Olivia Contento,
Ansley Barge, and
Maria Hansen with three each.
The Lady Hawks will be back at home for their final game of the season on Saturday April, 23
rd at 6 PM as the Lady Bearcats of Lander University come to town.
