ROME, Ga.- The Lady Hawks honored senior
Maria Hansen before their final game of the season. The Lady Bearcats of Lander took a 4-2 lead into the first quarter break and never looked back as they won the game 23-7.
Lander scored the first two goals of the game within the first four minutes, 2-0.
Olivia Contento struck first for the Lady Hawks with 7:42 left in the first quarter, 2-1. The Lady Bearcats scored another goal with 5:51 left in the first, 3-1.
Cat Bloedow scored her 14
th goal of the season off of a pass from
Maria Hansen, 3-2. Lander scored another goal to go into the quarter break with a 4-2 lead.
Olivia Contento scored her second goal of the game in the first minute of the second quarter with an assist from
Olivia Masters, 4-3. The Lady Bearcats tacked on another two goals to extend their lead, 6-3.
Sydney Jones scored her 11
th goal of the season off of a pass from
Alexis Mount with 9:28 left in first half, 6-4. Lander scored four unanswered goals, 10-4. Senior
Maria Hansen scored her 30
th goal of the season with 2:39 left in the second quarter, 10-5. The Lady Bearcats scored two more goals to go into halftime with a 12-5 lead. Lander came out of the break on fire as they scored eight unanswered goals, 20-5.
Jenny Hernandez scored her 6
th goal of the season off of a pass from
Maria Hansen with 11:14 left in the game, 20-6. The Lady Bearcats scored two more goals, 22-6. Senior
Maria Hansen scored the final goal for the Lady Hawks with 5:05 left in the game, 22-7. Lander added another goal with 1:06 left in the game 23-7.

Olivia Contento led the Lady Hawks with two goals.
Cat Bloedow,
Sydney Jones, and
Jenny Hernandez all scored a goal.
Maria Hansen also led the team with two assists followed by
Olivia Masters and
Alexis Mount who each recorded one assist.
Alexis Mount and
Maria Hansen led the team with three shots on goal.
Melyndia Boncoeur led Shorter with four ground balls followed by
Ansley Barge with three.
