WEST POINT, Ga. – After getting an important road victory at Davis & Elkins this past Saturday, the Shorter men's lacrosse team returned to the state of Georgia and built on their positive momentum by defeating
Point University 15-5 on Thursday evening.
Alexander Hudgins led the Hawks with a game-high four goals to help Shorter win back-to-back games for the first time this season and defeated Point for the second time this year. Teammates
Kaleb Roehn and
Earl Marshall finished right behind Hudgins with three goals apiece.
Gunnar Uutinen (two),
Ethan Kavanaugh (two) and
Jaden Sealey (one) also added their names to the scoresheet.
Marshall led the Hawks in assists with three, while Uutinen and Kavanaugh tied for second on the team in assists with two each. As for Point (0-11), Malyke Sillers led the home team with three goals, and teammate Jassiem Josse led the team in assists with three to go along with his two goals.
Shorter (3-8) will look to extend their win streak on Saturday, as they will play at the University of Alabama in Huntsville at 3 p.m.
