ROME, Ga.—Shorter Softball finished out the home conference series with West Alabama on Sunday afternoon
 
The Lady Hawks finished the weekend with an overall record of 4-17, 1-8 GSC while the Lady Tigers wrap up with 12-9 overall and 4-2 GSC.
 
The Lady Tigers came out to score first in the top of the first, 1-0. Then plated two more in the top of the third from a two run homerun.
 
In the bottom of the fourth, the Lady Hawks got the bats together to score two runs on three hits. 
Paytn Cripps singled up the middle to score 
Taylor Phillips. Followed by 
Alexis Sewell grounding out to second base to advance 
Kaylee George home, 3-2.
West Alabama got a rally going in the top of the sixth that scored a total of five runs on five hits to continue the lead, 7-2. The Lady Tigers added one run in the top of the seventh inning.
The Lady Hawks came out ready to fight back in the bottom of the seventh with Sewell drawing a walk followed by 
Angela Cecere blasting a double to left field to score Sewell. West Alabama retired the next two batters to win all three games in the series.
Phillips went 2-2 on the day with one walk. While 
Carlee Graham, Cecere, and Cripps each added in one hit.
 
The Lady Hawks will be back in action on Friday at University of West Georgia for a GSC series with first pitch slated for 4p.m.
