ROME, Ga.- The Lady Hawks were back after a twelve-day layoff to face the Lady Panthers of Florida Tech. The Lady Hawks kept the game close in the first quarter, but then the Lady Panthers scored seven unanswered goals in the second quarter and cruised to a 23-8 victory.
Florida Tech scored the first goal of the game with 12:42 left in the first quarter.
Maria Hansen scored a man-up goal for the Lady Hawks with 10:54 left in the first off of a pass from
Olivia Masters to tie the game at one. Shorter took the lead two minutes later when
Cat Bloedow scored, 2-1. The Lady Panthers scored the next two goals and retook the lead, 3-2.
Olivia Contento scored her 15
th goal of the season with 5:25 left in the first with an assist from
Olivia Masters to tie the game at three. The Lady Panthers scored a minute later to retake the lead, 4-3.
Olivia Contento scored her second goal of the game with an assist from
Cat Bloedow to tie the game at four. Florida Tech scored two more goals to extend their lead to two goals at the end of the first quarter, 6-4. The Lady Panthers scored seven unanswered goals to start the second quarter, 13-4.
Maria Hansen scored her second goal of the game with 6:20 left in the first half, 13-5. Florida Tech scored two more goals, 15-5.
Maria Hansen scored the final goal of the first half with 1:45 left on the clock, 15-6. The Lady Panthers came out of the break and scored seven unanswered goals, 22-6.
Olivia Masters scored her first goal of the game with 10:58 left in game, 22-7. Four minutes later,
Maria Hansen scored her 25
th goal of the season off of a pass from
Olivia Masters, 22-8. Florida Tech scored the final goal of the game with 56 seconds left, 23-8.
Maria Hansen led the Lady Hawks with four goals and six shots on goal followed by
Olivia Contento who scored two goals and recorded four shots on goal.
Cat Bloedow scored a goal and recorded an assist.
Olivia Masters scored a goal and recorded three assists.
The Lady Hawks will travel to St. Augustine, Florida for a matchup with Flagler College on April 2
nd at 12 PM.
