VALDOSTA, Ga.— The Shorter Softball team finished out the series with Valdosta State on Sunday. The Lady Hawks fell in both games of the double header, 8-0.
The Lady Hawks fall to 4-22 while the Lady Blazers improve to 19-4.
Game 1
The Lady Blazers scored one run the first with a homerun. Valdosta got the bats going in the bottom of the fourth to score five runs and then plated two more in the bottom of the fifth, 8-0. The Lady Hawks recorded two hits, one from
Kaylee Combs and
Paytn Cripps.
Hannah Morales pinch ran for Combs to gain a stolen base.
Game 2
Valdosta State scored a total of eight runs on eight hits to take the final game of the series and gain the sweep. Valdosta's Mia DeAngelis shut down the Lady Hawks' bats by throwing a no hitter with a total of three strikeouts.
The Lady Hawks will head to Young Harris on Tuesday, March 22 for a doubleheader with first pitch slated for 2p.m.
