Lady Hawks Burned by Lady Flames

ROME, Ga.- The Lady Hawks were at home for the second game of their three-game home stand as the Lady Flames of Lee University came to town. The first eight minutes of the game were back and forth, but then Lee scored seven unanswered goal and never looked back as they won the game 23-7.

Lee scored the first goal of the game in the first minute of the game. Shorter came back three minutes later and scored a goal of their own as Ansley Barge scored her second goal of the season. Alexis Mount scored her 20th goal of the season and gave the Lady Hawks the lead less than a minute later. The Lady Flames scored a minute and forty seconds later to tie the game at two. Olivia Masters scored her 15th goal of the season with 8:22 left in the first quarter to give the Lady Hawks a 3-2 lead. Lee then scored six unanswered goal to end the first quarter with an 8-3 lead. Lee started the scoring in the second quarter which extended their lead to 9-3. Alexis Mount and Ansley Barge both scored their second goal of the game to make it a 9-5 game. The Lady Flames scored with 9:52 left in the first half to give them a 10-5 lead. Alexis Mount recorded a hat-trick when she scored with 7:36 left in the second quarter to cut Lee's lead down to four. Lee scored four goal to end the first half and go into the break with a 14-6 lead. The Lady Flames came out on fire in the second half by scoring seven unanswered goals. Cat Bloedow scored the final goal for the Lady Hawks off of a pass from Olivia Masters to make it a 21-7 game. Lee scored two more goals and won the game 23-7.

Alexis Mount led the team with three goals and four shots on goal. Ansley Barge scored two goals and had four ground balls. Olivia Masters tied Alexis Mount for the lead in shots on goal with four and recorded a goal and an assist. Cat Bloedow scored a goal and had five shots.

The Lady Hawks will be back at home for the final game of their three-game home stand as the Florida Tech Lady Panthers travel to Rome on Monday March 28th at 12 PM.
