ROME, Ga.- The Lady Hawks were back home for a matchup with the Lady Owls of Warren Wilson College. The Lady Hawks scored their first goal two minutes into the game and never looked back as they soared to an 18-0 victory.
Maria Hansen got the scoring started for the Hawks with 13:50 left in the first quarter.
Olivia Contento scored her 13
th goal of the season 40 seconds later off of a pass from
Alexis Mount.
Cat Bloedow scored a minute and a half later with an assist from
Alexis Mount. Five minutes later,
Olivia Masters scored to extend the Lady Hawks' lead to 4-0.
Olivia Contento scored her second goal of the game with three minutes left in the first quarter to give Shorter a 5-0 lead.
Maria Hansen scored the first two goals to start the second quarter which put the Lady Hawks up 7-0.
Sydney Jones scored with 5:22 left in the first half off of a pass from
Alexis Mount. Less than a minute later,
Alexis Mount got a goal of her own to put Shorter up 9-0.
Jenny Hernandez got her third goal of the season with 2:26 left in the second quarter with an assist from
Olivia Masters. The final goal of the first half came from
Maria Hansen with 35 seconds left, and the Lady Hawks went into halftime with an 11-0 lead.
Sydney Jones scored her second goal of the game with 12:34 left in the third quarter off of a pass from
Maria Hansen. Four minutes later,
Cat Bloedow scored her second goal of the game to give the Lady Hawks a 13-0 lead.
Melyndia Boncoeur scored her first goal of the season in the final ten seconds of the third quarter to give Shorter a 14-0 lead.
Olivia Masters scored the first goal in the fourth quarter with 13:30 remaining in the game.
Alexis Mount scored her second goal of the game off of a pass from
Ansley Barge with 10:31 left in the game. Two minutes later,
Ansley Barge scored her first goal of the season to give Shorter a 17-0 lead.
Melyndia Boncoeur scored the final goal of the game with four minutes left in the game off of a pass from
Jenny Hernandez as the Lady Hawks cruised to an 18-0 victory.
Maria Hansen led the team with four goals followed by
Melyndia Boncoeur,
Olivia Contento,
Cat Bloedow,
Sydney Jones,
Olivia Masters, and
Alexis Mount who each scored two goals.
Olivia Masters and
Maria Hansen led the Lady Hawks with five shots on goal.
Alexis Mount led the team with three assists. Goalkeeper
Makala McKinney recorded two saves and got the win.
The Lady Hawks will continue their three-game home stand Wednesday March 16
th at 5 PM as the Lady Flames of Lee University come to town.
