In a back-and-forth conference affair, The Shorter Hawks Women's Soccer team dropped a 3-1 heartbreaker to the Spring Hill College Badgers Friday at Ben Brady Field.
The Hawks drew blood first with a goal by Aisling Cumming to take a 1-0 lead. The lead would hold up for the entirety of the first half as the Hawks kept the Badgers off the scoreboard during the opening 45 minutes.
But in the second half, the Badgers struck for a goal in the 58th minute to level the contest. From there, the two squads played back and forth until the Badgers hit two more insurance goals to seal the match.
The Shorter Hawks will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 9, when they host the No.3 University of West Florida Argonauts at Ben Brady Field.
