LIVINGSTON,Ala,— The Lady Hawks finished out their conference series agaisnt West Alabama with a doubleheader on Satruday. The Lady Tigers swept Shorter 12-1 in the first game of the doubleheader. In game two the Hawks were kept the Tigers at 12 runs but only scored four runs for another lose. 
Shorter falls to 4-13 overall and 0-9 in conference play while West Alabama improves to 10-8 overall and 6-6 in GSC play. 
Game 1
West Alabama continued their momentum into the first game on Saturday by scoring the two runs in the first inning. Carlee Graham hit a sac fly to centerfield to score Taylor Phillips and score the only Hawk run across the plate, 2-1. Tigers pitcher, Hannah Mynard, shut the Hawks down by only allowing two hits, one run and four strikeouts. The Lady Tigers had a big scoring inning in the second by scoring a total of five runs to take the score to 7-1. In the bottom of third Caleigh Wallace hit a three-run homerun to right center, 10-1. In the fourth, West Alabama scored two more runs to secure the run rule. 
Sydney Poston and Kylie League were the two lone Hawks whom each had one hit. 
Game 2
The Tigers came out and score four runs in the first inning to take the first lead of the game 4-0. The Lady Hawks were able to answer back by adding tying the game up in the top of the second, 4-4. Poston hit a double down the left field line to score Angela Cecere, Colbi Ballard and Carlee Graham for a total of three RBI's. Then Hannah Morales singled up the middle to score Poston to get the tying run across the plate. 
The Tigers broke the tie in the bottom of the second with a single to right field from Mary Grace Sheffield that scored two runs to take the lead again, 6-4. Then Nicole Buccieri reached first base on an error that scored two more runs, 8-4. Pitcher Kacy Noland shut down the Hawks from scoring again. Meanwhile the Tigers kept going by scoring in both the third and fourth innings to make the final score 12-4. 
Shorter had a total of eights hits but left six runners on base. Morales led the Hawks by going 3-3 at the plate with one RBI. Poston added in two hits and three RBI's. Ballard, League, and Phillips each added in one hit. 
The Lady Hawks will continue to be on the road next weekend with a GSC conference matchup at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi with a doubleheader on Saturday and single game on Sunday. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 4p.m.
