LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Shorter Hawks fell 80-65 to the University of West Alabama Tigers on Saturday afternoon on the road.
After this afternoon's game, the Hawks are 3-7 on the season and 0-5 in Gulf South Conference (GSC) play. The Tigers are now 10-2 on the season and 3-1 in GSC play.
The score stayed close throughout the first half and the Tigers led 39-37 at the half.
Mark Wilcox Jr. led the way for the Hawks with 20 points and four rebounds.
Grant Atchley had 14 points while
Ralph Barnett Jr. scored nine points.
The Hawks return to action on Friday, December 31 for a New Year's Eve non-conference matchup against Fort Valley State University. Tip-off will be at 2 p.m. in the Winthrop-King Centre. Conference play will resume on Sunday, January 2 at the University of Montevallo. Tip-off for this game will be at 5 p.m.
