CLINTON, Miss. – The Lady Hawks (14-11) fell to the Mississippi College Lady Choctaws (6-12) 3-2 on Friday evening at Mississippi.
The Lady Choctaws defeated the Lady Hawks 25-12 in the first set. Shorter won the second set 25-16, and Mississippi won the third set 25-21. The Lady Hawks won the fourth set 25-22, but the Lady Choctaws took the final set of the match 16-14.
Lacee Glover had 14 kills for Shorter.
Annie Veldhuis had four blocks while
Carrington Terrell and
Katherine Patrick both had three.
Annie Smith had 31 assists, and
Madison Sprosty added in 19 digs.
As a team, the Lady Hawks had 47 kills, 13 aces, eight blocks, 41 assists and 48 digs.
Mississippi overall had 52 kills, 10 aces, nine blocks, 48 assists and 52 digs.

Shorter returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, October 30, at the University of West Alabama. The match is slated to start at 3 p.m. The next home match for the Lady Hawks will be on Tuesday, November 2 against Valdosta State at 6 p.m. in the Winthrop-King Centre.
