CLEVELAND, Tenn.- The Hawks battled it out against #18 Lee Tuesday night to a final score of 70-60. The Hawks fall to 1-4 while the Flames increase their win streak to five games with a 5-1 record.
The Hawks started off slow in the first half and went into the locker room behind 32-15.
However, in the second half the Hawks came out on fire. They started off with a quick layup by
Bentley Grove. The Hawks outscored the Flames in the second half 45-38 but it was not enough to overcome the halftime deficit.
Charles Botchway led the team in points, rebounds, and assists with 20 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. This is his fourth game this season scoring 20 or more points! The Hawks had two other players who scored double digits,
Ricky Knight Jr. had 13 points and
Jay Shropshire had 11 points. The Hawks shot 38.8 percent from the field and outscored Lee in the paint 42 to 30.
The Hawks will be back at home this weekend to face #20 Valdosta State. Tip off is at 6pm on Friday, January 22
