Hawks fall to Argonauts, 94-67

Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla.—Freshman Kelly Pickett scored a game high of 18 points in her college debut as the Lady Hawks took on the Argonauts Wednesday night at University of West Florida in the first game of the 2020-2021 season. The Argonauts came out on top with a final score of 94-67.

Shorter started out strong in the first two quarters but heading into halftime the Hawks were down six, 35-29, and the Argonauts took the momentum into the locker room and brought it back out with them for the remainder of the game.

The Hawks had three freshman girls make it to double digits and they included Pickett with 18 points, Julia Peroni with 17 points and Chatham Brown with 15 points as well as adding in seven rebounds. Alicyn McCollum had seven rebounds while Bailee Usrey added in nine points.

The Hawks will continue to be on the road Saturday as they take on Auburn University Montgomery with tip off slated for 5 p.m.
