Hawks Swashbuckled by Bucs in Second Half

Box Score ROME, Ga-- The Shorter University Men's Basketball team was back in action in the Winthrop-King Centre on Thursday night as they hosted Christian Brothers in a Gulf South Conference Matchup. Shorter went into the half with a two point lead, 38-36 over Christian Brothers but with some turnovers the Hawks soon gave up the lead and momentum in the second half. The Hawks came up short with a final score of 83-70.

The Hawks are now 3-17 and 0-12 in Gulf South Conference, while the Buccaneers are 10-11 and 6-7 in Gulf South Conference.
 

Shorter had a team free throw shooting percentage of 82.4% and in the first half they went 6-6 on free throws. As well as having 35 bench pints and 12 points from turnovers. Jacori Wilson had a game high of 27 points as well as six rebounds, one block and one steal. Jay Shropshire contributed 17 points, three rebounds, and three steals. Wilson went 10-13 on shooting field goals and 3-5 on three's while Shorpshire put up an impressive 6-6 on free throws.

The Hawks will return to action on Saturday, February 1st as they take on the Bulldogs of Union University with tipoff slated for 4p.m.
