Rome, GA- The Hawks (3-14, 0-7 Gulf South) were at home again for a battle with the Valdosta State Blazers (13-3, 7-2 Gulf South).
The Hawks were able to keep the first half close, 35-39, but the second half slipped away from them because they were outscored 53-44.
Ricky Knight Jr. led the team with 19 points and
Kelan Walker followed with 15 points.
Ja'Cori Wilson not only led the team with 11 rebounds, but he also had 14 points against the Blazer defense which gives him a double-double for the game.
The Hawks scored 8 points off 9 turnovers that the Blazers committed. The Hawks also scored quickly and scored 22 points off the fast break. The Hawks did have a higher free throw percentage than the Blazers, 84.6% to 76.9%.
