ROME, Ga. – On Saturday evening, the Shorter Hawks made the trip back to Tennessee looking to avenge their loss in Jefferson City earlier this week. Those plans were quickly shut down by King University when the Tornado jumped to a 12-0 lead and never looked back. When all was said and done, the Tornado blew away the Hawks 108-75.
For the second straight contest, opponents eclipsed 100 points in their victory over Shorter. King boosted their total by sinking eleven shots from behind the arc in the first half.
This season,
Bryan Polanco has notched three double-doubles in four games, including Saturday evening. Polanco pulled down a season-high 15 rebounds to go alongside 18 points in the contest. The last Shorter player to snag 15 boards in a single-game was
Frenki Lilaj in February 2019 against Auburn-Montgomery.
Jaylin Brown dished out three assists in the loss for the team-high. Lilaj and
Keeving Etienne both scored in double-digits in 21 minutes of action.
