Carson-Newman opened the game on an 8-0 run and never looked back. Going into halftime, the Eagles held a 68-45 lead.

After the break, the Hawks outscored the Eagles 53-45. Shorter caught fire late, ending the game on a 13-3 run but it was too little, too late.

Jay Shropshire pouring in 26 to lead the way.
Bryan Polanco pulled down 13 rebounds to go with 12 points for a double-double. Not far off,
Keeving Etienne was a rebound short of a double-double, tallying 13 points and 9 boards. Also in double-figures for Shorter were
Tyler Goodman and
Frenki Lilaj.
