Montgomery, Ala. -- AUM completed the three-game sweep of the Lady Hawks Saturday afternoon, winning the finale 8-0 in six innings.
With the loss, Shorter moves to 15-19 overall and 10-13 in the GSC; while the Warhawks improve to 22-12 on the season and 13-11 in conference play.
Game three was all AUM as the Warhawks used a three-run first to pull away. Before adding a run in the second for the 4-0 score and extending their advantage to six with two in the fourth. The game was then called after six innings as AUM tacked on two final runs for the 8-0 score.
Shorter had baserunners in four of the six innings but were held scoreless for the third straight game.
Julie Sanderlin took the loss, allowing three runs on two hits with three walks in 0.2 innings of work.
Payton Lippert pitched the final five innings, allowing five runs – two earned – on three hits with five walks and a strikeout.
Maddie Hunt recorded both of the Lady Hawks' hits on the afternoon.
Shorter returns to action next weekend as they host Montevallo in a three-game set at Alto Park.
