Florence, Ala. --Â No. 6 North Alabama came from behind to top the Lady Hawks, 4-3, Saturday afternoon on the road.
Shorter moves to 10-12 on the season and 5-6 in conference play; while the Lions improve to 20-2 overall and 11-0 in the GSC.
The Lady Hawks got on the board first as
Dani Lukas tallied her first homerun of the season in the second inning and
Amelia Olive added an RBI single later in the inning to bring in
Hannah Draper for the 2-0 score. Before making it a 3-0 game in the third on
Kaylee Combs second homerun of the weekend.
From there, North Alabama added a run in the sixth to cut into the lead, before earning the win in the seventh on a walk-off three-run homer from Veronica Westfall for the 4-3 final score.
Julie Sanderlin took the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits with two strikeouts in a complete game performance.

The Lady Hawks will look to get back into the win column next weekend as they welcome West Georgia to Alto Park for a three game series beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday evening. Saturday's doubleheader is set for 1:00 PM.
