ROME --Â The Lady Hawks fell to Lee, 84-51, Thursday evening to close out the 2017-18 season.
With the loss, Shorter ends the year with a 7-19 overall record and a 5-15 conference mark; while the Lady Flames will enter post season with a 22-6 record and 15-5 mark in conference play.
Lee jumped out to an early lead and didn't let up, outscoring Shorter 22-10 in the opening frame, before adding to it in the second to take a 21-13 advantage into halftime. The Lady Hawks weren't able to get any closer than seventeen in the second half. With the Lady Flames continuing to add to their advantage, making it a 30-point game in the fourth, before closing out the 84-51 win.
Bianca Thornton led the offensive effort for Shorter, turning in 17 points in her final game. While,
Jasmine Gaines added 14 and
Raven Fair chipped in with 10.
Carrie Cheeks led Lee and all scorers with 27 points, and just missed a double-double – adding nine rebounds for the night.
