ROME -- The Hawks cruised to their first win of the season Friday afternoon, topping Morehouse 8-0 at the Walt Attaway Tennis Center.

Leading 3-0 after doubles, the Hawks secured the sweep with five wins in singles play. Both, Jose Moreno-Manzano and Malik Yawar tallied straight set – 6-0, 6-0 – wins in their singles matches. While, Mason Barnette dropped one set en route to a 6-1, 6-0 win, and Gregoire Vincent posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Talha Zubair earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at number two; while Caleb Diller was leading 6-1, 4-5 when his matchup at number five was left unfinished.

The team is back in action Wednesday, February 21, as they travel to Auburn Montgomery to take the GSC newcomer in the start of the conference play.
