Franklin Springs, Ga. -- The Lady Hawks fell to Emmanuel College Friday afternoon, 8-1, in non-conference play on the road.
 
With the loss, Shorter moves to 1-1 on the season; while the Lions begin the 2018 campaign 1-0.
 
The Lady Hawks lone win of the afternoon came at number one singles, as Aleksandra Durzynski topped Fantine Botella 6-1, 7-5.
 
Shorter's women return to action Tuesday afternoon at home when they host in-region foe, Clark Atlanta, for a 1:00pm start from the Walt Attaway Tennis Complex.
