Lady Hawks soar past Eagles, 18-5

ROME -- The Lady Hawks topped Reinhardt 18-5 Saturday afternoon for their seventh win of the season.

Moments later, however, the Eagles tied things up on a goal from Gina Ives. But, the Lady Hawks quickly answered to regain the advantage on a score from Crystal Marshall and from there Shorter extended its lead to 7-1 with 8:10 to go in the first.

In the second half, Shorter tacked on seven goals, including five straight to open the period; all from different players – LeBlanc, Alex Abbey, McKinley Puckett, and Anna Kate Dulaney. Reinhardt then broke through for their final goal of the game with 7:18 to play. Before Aubrey Geiger tacked on two for Shorter in the final five minutes for the 18-5 final score.

In total Shorter dominated play on both ends of the field, holding a 31-7 advantage in shots in the game and 27-7 in shots on goal; while forcing 23 of the Eagles' 33 turnovers and leading in groundballs, 26-16.
