ROME -- Seven different players found the back of the net Wednesday evening as the Lady Hawks cruised to a 19-1 win over Point University to open the season. And, of those seven, four finished the night with two of more.

Shelby Beverly got things going for Shorter less than two minutes into the game, scoring her first goal in almost two years after sitting out last season due to injury; while Morgan Perrone posted her first career assist. Allie Perry followed minutes later with her first of the game on a free position attempt, and was followed by Crystal Marshall's first of the season four minutes later to bring the Lady Hawks lead to 3-0 with 22:56 to play. Before Marshall added a second goal less than a minute later on a pass from Beverly, while Perrone added the goal first of her career with 19:06 remaining.

Four minutes later, Point broke the shut out with their only goal of the game as Grace Beardsley netted a pass from Alexa Coronado to make it a 5-1 game.

The Lady Hawks tallied six more scores during the final ten minutes of the period to take an 11-1 lead into the intermission, with Beverly making the most of her free position attempts, by netting both. Morgan LeBlanc also added a goal on a free position; while Marshall scored twice more and Perry tallied a second for the game. During the span Hannah Pridemore and Bailey Skiles each added assists.

After the break the offense slowed, a little, but with the ten-point advantage, the teams had the added benefit of a running clock. LeBlanc was the one to get the scoring going for the Lady Hawks with 24:01 to play in the second half, scoring her second of the night while the team was a man-down due to a yellow card on Marshall.

Marshall tallied her sixth score of the night to spark the run, before LeBlanc went back to back and Pridemore chipped in for her lone goal of the game.
