ROME --Â The Hawks fell to West Alabama 6-0 Friday evening from Ben Brady Field.
With the loss, Shorter moves to 3-11 on the season and 2-7 in the GSC; while the 20th-ranked Tigers improve to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play.
UWA got on the board in the 9th minute with their first goal of the game, and from there, didn't let up; tacking on three more to take a 4-0 advantage into the second half, where they added two for the 6-0 score.
In total, the Tigers posted 23 shots; while holding the Hawks to four – two in each half. And, held a 13-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Hassane Traore tallied two shots for the game, both in the first half; with
Jordan Etsio and
Luis Vazquez recording one each in the second.Â
Sean Carpenter made seven saves in the game – three in the first half and four in the second.
West Alabama was led by Ali Brador's five-point day – two goals, one assist. While reigning GSC Defender of the Week, Brad Louis, made two saves in goal.
The Hawks will look to get back into the win column Sunday as Alabama Huntsville visits Ben Brady for a 3:30pm start.
