Taylor Adams hit the go-ahead basket with five seconds remaining, but Christian Brothers hit a pair of free throws just two seconds later to top Shorter, 50-49.

The Lady Hawks opened up a five-point lead early in the first quarter off
Kayla Tillie's three-pointer, but the Lady Bucs battled to take a one-point lead before SU regained control.
BreAnna Thompson put Shorter up six late in the quarter and at the end of one, the Lady Hawks held a four-point lead, 17-13
The final period before the intermission was low scoring, as the two teams combined to score only 14 points.
Shorter led by five with only 2:55 left in the half, but the Lady Bucs used a 7-0 run to take a two-point lead before
Raven Fair's free throw made the score 23-22 in favor of CBU.
Neither team scored over the final 1:11 of the quarter, and the Lady Hawks trailed by one at the half.
The two squads traded the lead five times in the third period and the last change put the Lady Hawks ahead.
Domonique Clune's layup with one second remaining put SU up 56-55 at the end of the period.
Jordan McCarver scored the Lady Hawks first five points of the fourth, giving the team a five-point lead with seven minutes remaining, but just four minutes later the Lady Bucs took the lead.
Back-to-back layups by Thompson and Adams put Shorter ahead, 49-48, but Christian Brothers' Courtney Banks made two free throws with just three seconds on the clock.
Banks' free throws gave the Lady Bucs a 50-49 victory as the Lady Hawks' attempt at the buzzer fell short.
Thompson and Clune led Shorter with 12 and 11 points respectively. Banks scored 14 for Christian Brothers, while Rachel Lee added 12.
Both teams shot less than 40%, with CBU shooting slightly higher than the Lady Hawks. Shorter won the rebounding battle, 34-32, but the Lady Bucs outperformed SU at the charity stripe, shooting 14 of 17, while the Lady Hawks hit only three of nine attempts.
The loss drops Shorter to 6-11 overall and 5-7 in the Gulf South Conference. Christian Brothers improves to 11-6 overall and 8-5 in the conference.
The Lady Hawks return to action at home on Saturday against Union. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
