Shorter wrestling won its final dual match of the year Sunday afternoon, topping Huntingdon College 39-15 on the road.
In route to the win, the Hawks dropped just three weight classes, the first to forfeit.
Ben Smith put the Hawks on the board with a win 133; topping Mason Blakeney via pin in 4:10. Huntingdon followed by winning the next two matchups to regain the lead, but the advantage was short lived as Shorter closed out the victory, winning the remaining weight classes.
Willy Dieckmann pinned Jared Mercer in 2:35 in the 157 class, and was followed by a
Kade Kitchens victory 1-5 over Deon Maxwell.
Wally Figaro then extended Shorter's lead with a win via forfeit at 174, and
Dalton Lane recorded a pin of Dieondiere' Jefferies in 38 seconds to keep the Hawks win streak going.
Marlon Morales also recorded a victory due to forfeit, and
Christian Flavin closed out the win by defeating Jesse Rowlen with a pin in 4:45.
Shorter will now turn its attention to the postseason when they travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to take part in the NCAA Super Region Championship on February 26-27.
