Franklin Springs, Ga. --Â Coming off of an overtime victory their last time out the Lady Hawks kept the momentum going Tuesday night as they tallied a 4-0 win over Emmanuel College on the road to improve to 2-1 on the year.
In her second straight game,
Tabea Kirchner provided the game winne. This time, however, the shot came early as she found the back of the net in the second minute of the game. The goal would prove to be enough as they Lady Hawks held the Lions scoreless in the contest, but Shorter wasn't done there.
Cheyenne Golden made it a 2-0 game in the 27th minute on a pass from
Amber Miller, and then assisted on
Julia Raymond's first goal of the year 10 minutes later.
Maggie Pruitt scored the final goal of the in the 87th minute – the first of her career – for the 4-0 score.
In total the Shorter outshot Emmanuel 15-8, with 12 shots coming in the first half.
Alden Powell played the complete game in goal, stopping each of the three shots that were on goal, and turning in her first clean sheet of the year.
The Lady Hawks will return to action Saturday, September 12, as they travel to Cleveland, Ga. to take on Truett-McConnell College at 5:00pm. Fans unable to attend the game can follow all the action live at
