LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Shorter men's basketball team were unable to find the shooting touch Saturday afternoon when host West Alabama handed the Hawks an 81-64 Gulf South Conference defeat.
The setback, the Hawks' fourth loss in a row, gives Shorter a 16-9 overall record and an 11-9 GSC slate heading into their final two home games of the regular season next week against Delta State on Feb. 19 and Mississippi College on Feb. 21.
Against West Alabama, Shorter ended the game hitting a cool 39.2 percent of its shots as the host Tigers (18-9, 13-6) raced out to a 39-28 halftime lead.
Dedric Ware paced the Hawks with 15 points,
Kordario Fleming had 13 and
Jordan Jacks added 12.
West Alabama, which has now won four straight, was led by Justin Wright's game-high 31 points.
After their two-game home stand next week, the Hawks close out the regular season on Feb. 28 visiting Lee.
