Florence, S.C. -- Saturday, the Lady Hawks started on a high note; earning a, 3-0, win over Mount Olive. But, fell to Lander, 3-0, to even their record to 2-2 on the young season having split both days of matches at the Francis Marion Invitational.

In the first match of the day, Shorter won in dominating fashion, earning the win with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-20, respectively.

Jasmine Crook (12) and
Anna Graham (11) led the way in kills while
Cheyenne McLemore recorded a match high 16 digs.
Cheyenne Frady and
Dena Pierce shared the setting responsibilities and posted 19 and 17 assists, respectively.

Despite the 3-0 loss to the Bearcats, the Lady Hawks fought hard which showed as the match saw a tied score 29 times, and the lead changed a total of 14 times. Set scores were 25-21, 25-19, and 27-25, respectively.

Elizabeth Dowd led Shorter in kills with 15 while also adding 16 digs. Crook posted 13 kills and 16 digs, and McLemore also added 16 digs in the match.

Peirce dished out 18 assists to go along with her 15 digs, and Frady tallied 17 assists for the Lady Hawks.

Shorter will begin conference play Tuesday as they travel to Carrollton, Ga. to take on West Georgia; game time is set for 7:00pm.
