ROME -- After a long road trip to North Carolina, the Shorter Women's Soccer team came out on top with two victories against Mars Hill College and Brevard College. Â The strong 2-0 start by the Lady Hawks is the best start in the program since 2004.Â
Tuesday, the Lady Hawks learned of thier 8th overall ranking in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II South Region poll. The National Soccer Coaching Association of America ranks intercollegiate and interscholastic soccer teams across the nation. The team is continuing to train at a high level and focus on the next game ahead.
In other exciting news, the Lady Hawks were also recognized as the 9th best team in the nation in the NCCAA poll; which was also released Tuesday. The National Christian College Athletic Association sponsors championship in which Christian schools compete against each other.
On Friday, the Lady Hawks travel to face the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan College. The team is motivated and excited to keep the winning streak alive. Although the rankings earned by Shorter are great achievements, the only thing on the Lady Hawks' mind is working hard to capture another win.
