Valdosta State tops Lady Hawks, 46-41

Box Score Valdosta, Ga.--Shorter women's basketball took to the court for the second time this season against Valdosta State, and came away with the same result, this time a 46-41 loss.

The Lady Hawks move to 6-18 on the season and 4-14 in Gulf South play. The Lady Blazers improve to 11-13 overall and 6-12 in conference.

Shorter was led offensively by Karisma Boykin and Lynette Harris; who both recorded 12 points on the night, Ieshia Alexander added 10.

With the game tied, 24-24, at the half the Lady Hawks had new life, but it wasn't enough as they were outscored 22-17 in the closing frame. Valdosta State posted 28 points off the bench, while Shorter's bench was held to 3 points, all belonging to Tamarr Williams.

The Lady Hawks will look to give head coach Vic Mitchell his 400th win as they travel to Carrollton, Ga. to take on West Georgia on Tuesday, February 25, at 5:30pm.
