ROME --Â Brock Rowan turned in a career day in the Hawks 99-71 win over Point University Saturday afternoon at home.
Shorter moves to 5-1 on the season, while Point falls to 0-12 overall.
Rowan posted a game, season, and career high 32 points for the Hawks, a mark that bests his previous high of 19; which he tallied in last season's finale versus Lee. While also turning in a new Shorter record for three pointers in a game with 9, and shooting a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.
Dedric Ware and
Jordan Jacks also tallied double figures for the Hawks; Ware with 17, and Jacks with 12.
Travis Jones and Jacks each added 9 rebounds for Shorter in the win.
The Hawks took the lead early and didn't look back, leading by as many as 21 in the opening half and adding to it in the second to post a 30 point advantage late.
In total Shorter tallied 15 three pointers in the game, shooting 43% from beyond the arc; while shooting just over 50% in the game. From the line, the Hawks shot 74%, making 14-19.
Four Skyhawks posted double figures – Seth Houston (18), Vincent Driscoll (15), Marcus Brown (13), and Erik Fields (10).
Shorter's men will also look to keep a home streak going as the Union University Bulldogs visit the Winthrop-King Centre on Thursday evening, December 4, for an 8:00pm tip.
