TAMPA --Â The Lady Hawks memorable season came to an end Thursday afternoon as they fell to Florida Southern in the NCAA Regional Tournament.
Shorter finishes the season with an overall record of 21-6, and a conference record of 18-2.
Game scores against the Mocs were 25-13, 25-18, and 25-16, respectively.
Offensively,
Anna Graham led the Lady Hawks - who were without all-time kills leader,
Jasmine Crook - posting 7 kills on the day.
Elizabeth Dowd and
Morgan Cleveland each chipped in with 6 apiece.
Cheyenne Frady led Shorter with 14 assists in the game, while
Dena Pierce added 12.
Defensively,
Cheyenne McLemore led the Lady Hawks; turning in a match high 20 digs. Dowd added 16, and Pierce posted 11. Dowd, Graham, and
Erica Baker each assisted on 2 blocks for Shorter, as well.
Florida Southern was led by a 9 kill performance from Kendall Marotti, and a 19 dig performance from Catherine Bruise.
