ROME -- This week's editon of the GSC Volleyball Match of the Week will feature the Shorter Lady Hawks as they take on North Alabama Thursday, October 9, at home. Game time is set for 7:00pm.

The Lady Hawks are currently riding a 10-match winning streak and has strung off 12 wins at home, dating back to last season. North Alabama has won seven of their last eight matches overall, including six of their last seven against GSC opponents.  

Shorter defeated North Alabama 3-1, in their first meeting back on September 11. The Lions jumped out to an impressive 35-33 first-set victory, but dropped the next three sets to the Lady Hawks. In the match, senior outside hitter Jasmine Crook led Shorter with 14 kills and added 18 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Elizabeth Dowd contributed 19 digs and 11 kills. North Alabama was led by sophomore outside hitter Natasha Fomina; who recorded 12 kills, and freshman defensive specialist Ashtyn Kapovich; who posted 25 digs.

This will be the seventh meeting all time for the teams with Shorter leading the overall series 4-2.
