Cleveland, Tenn. -- The Lady Hawks will once again be part of the Gulf South Conference Match of the Week this week, as they travel to Cleveland, Tenn. Tuesday, October 14, to take on long-time rival Lee University.
Shorter is led by freshman defensive specialist
Cheyenne McLemore; who so far this season, has contributed 242 digs, averaging 4.25 digs per set, a mark that is fourth best in the GSC. Another key player for the Lady Hawks is senior outside hitter
Jasmine Crook; who just last week broke the longstanding career kills record with a 12 kill performace at Christian Brothers. In total, she has recorded 169 kills this season, averaging 3.31 kills per set; while also adding 172 digs, averaging 3.37 digs per set.
Lee is led by sophomore setter/right hitter Erin Hill. She is the team leader in kills with 133, averaging 2.11 kills per set. Hill has also recorded 205 assists for the Flames. Another key player for the Flames is junior defensive specialist/libero Stephanie Hernandez. She holds the team lead in digs with 228, averaging 3.56 digs per set.
The Flames currently hold a 21-4 advantage in the overall series against Shorter.
